The single-use virtual card1 allows you to pay in 42 anywhere Visa is accepted with a few exceptions with a few exceptions based on Sezzle’s Acceptable Use Policy. If you are eligible, you can create a single-use card to be used in-store with Apple or Google Pay or online. Each single-use card will follow a specific payment plan provided in your installment loan agreement. You can manage payments and pay in the Sezzle app.

How to Create a Single-use Card
The minimum order amount required to create a single-use card is $35. A service fee will be charged on some single-card orders. See “What is a Service Fee?” for additional information on when a service fee is charged.
For a particular merchant in the Sezzle app (from the Shop tab)
- Open the Sezzle mobile app and select the brand you’d like to shop at.
- Add the items you’d like to purchase to your cart.
- Click “Pay with Sezzle” to create a new single-use card.
- Enter your order total—including shipping, tax, or tip.
- Review and agree to your loan terms, including service fee. Once created, the single-use card can only be used with that brand and will expire in 72 hours.
- When you’re ready, proceed to checkout, and copy and paste the single-use card details in the payment section.
For general use outside the Sezzle app (from the Virtual Card tab)
- Open the Sezzle mobile app and go to the “Virtual Card” tab.
- Click “Create a single-use card.”
- Start typing to search for where you’d like to shop. If you don’t find it, click “Click here to create a single-use card to pay-in-4 anywhere Visa is accepted.”
- Enter the amount you’d like to spend—including shipping, tax, or tip. Make sure it’s within your estimated spending power.
- Review and agree to your loan terms, including service fee. Once created, the single-use card is only good for that merchant and will expire in 72 hours.
How to Use a Single-use Card
You can use a single-use card online by entering the card details at checkout, or you can use it in-store by adding the single-use card to your mobile wallet.
Remember, each single-use card can only be used once, so you'll need a new one for each purchase.
You won’t be charged until you make a purchase using the single-use card. At the time of purchase, you'll be charged for the amount requested on the card, starting with the down payment plus any applicable service fees, followed by 3 more installments every two weeks. If you don't use the full amount on the single-use card, the difference will be returned to you in the form of a partial refund after the order has been fully processed by the merchant which should be within 7 days.
How to Add to Your Mobile Wallet & Pay In-Store
After creating a single-use card, the “Add to Wallet” option will become available so you can add it to your digital wallet (Google Pay or Apple Pay only). Click that button below the card image and you’ll be walked through the steps to configure the card to the correct wallet.
Once the single-use card has been added, you can use it at checkout just like any other virtual card – by unlocking and tapping your phone at the payment terminal. Where can I use the single-use card?
Subject to a service fee, single-use cards can be used in-store via Apple Pay or Google Pay or online virtually with Sezzle Premium merchants and wherever Visa is accepted, with a few exceptions based on Sezzle’s Acceptable Use Policy.
Why does my order have a service fee?
Service fees are incurred when shopping with certain merchants without having a subscription. It is applied with the down payment once the merchant confirms your order. When using the single-use card with certain Sezzle merchant partners, no service fee will be incurred. You will be able to reference which virtual card merchants incur a fee in the Sezzle app under the following filters: “Anywhere,” “Premium,” and “Sezzle Partner.” Learn more about the service fee here.
What payment method is the single-use card connected to?
Your default payment methods for First Payments and Scheduled Payments will be used when you make a purchase with a single-use virtual card.
The card required for the First Payment will be charged 25% of the total amount, including any service fee, requested on the single-use card. The remaining payments will be charged to your default payment method for Scheduled Payments. Reference: How do I set a payment method as the default?
What if my purchase ends up being more than the single-use card amount?
You will need to cancel the current single-use card and request a new one for the higher amount. Ensure it is within your estimated spending power. Please note that single-use cards cannot be combined to complete an order with a higher transaction total. For example, two single-use cards of $25 cannot be used to complete an order for $50.

How do I cancel my single-use card?
To cancel a single-use card:
- Log into your Sezzle dashboard or mobile app and navigate to the “Virtual Card” tab.
- Select the card you would like to cancel and click “Cancel Card.”
The amount of the single-use will then be returned to your estimated spending power.
How do I pay for the purchases made with a single-use card?
The payments are collected just like any other Sezzle order. You can view your payment plan, reschedule, pay early, and change your connected payment method at any time in the app.
