Purchase requests are pre-approved loan amounts you request for each Virtual Card use. For more information, see “What is a Virtual Card purchase request, and how do I create one?” and “How do I use the Sezzle Virtual Card?”
Even though you are not charged until you make the purchase, having an active purchase request directly impacts your estimated spending power. If you are attempting a purchase above your remaining spending power, check to see if you have any active, unused purchase requests and cancel them to free up your spending power.
Merchant-specific spending power may not reflect active purchase requests. Our team is working to implement this soon. It’s best to keep your overall estimated spending power and active purchase requests in mind when attempting a new Sezzle order.
For example, if you have $200 in estimated spending power and create a purchase request for $100, your estimated spending power will now be $100. If you are going to make a purchase and the total is $150, you will receive notifications to create a new purchase request, but since your remaining estimated spending power is $100, you will have to cancel the existing $100 purchase request first. Once you delete the active purchase request and create a new one for $150, your new estimated spending power will be $50.
On the other hand, if you have $200 of estimated spending power and create a purchase request for $100, your estimated spending power will now be $100. If that purchase request expires or you cancel it, your estimated spending power will revert back to $200.
