Unlike normal Sezzle shopping, our Sezzle Up exclusive merchants allow you to purchase a gift card for use in-store or online. 25% of the gift card total will always be charged as a down-payment, and your gift card order will follow our standard repayment schedule (4 payments over the course of 6 weeks). You will then need to use that gift card to officially place an order with the merchant.
Buying a gift card
With the gift cards, you'll be able to shop in-store or online with merchants not available for standard Sezzle users. You will need to use the Sezzle app to purchase the gift card, but you can then checkout through any method that the store accepts gift cards through.
Once you've selected a store that uses a gift card, you'll be shown a menu where you can either choose "online" or "in-store" as your checkout method. You can select either option - choosing "online" will just take you directly to the store's website to start shopping, and choosing "in-store" will take you directly to the gift card purchase menu.
Note: The purchase of a gift card is final. We are not able to cancel, refund, or adjust gift card amounts. If you receive a refund on your order, the store will typically issue store credit. We recommend reading the store's policies on gift card orders before placing an order.
Using a gift card for online shopping
If you select "online" as your shopping method, our app will direct you to the store's website. We recommend adding all items to your cart, entering your billing and shipping information, and selecting a shipment method before purchasing a gift card. This will allow you to know the exact cost of your order, as once a gift card is purchased, the amount can't be adjusted. If the gift card you purchase does not cover the full amount of your order, you can purchase another gift card or use a different payment method at checkout to cover the difference.
Once you know the total amount of your order, select "pay with Sezzle" at the bottom of your screen. You'll then be walked through purchasing a gift card. Once you've purchased a gift card, you can view the gift card by selecting "history."
You'll then enter the gift card information into the "gift card" section at checkout. If the gift card doesn't cover the full amount of the order, you will need to either purchase a second gift card or use one of the other payment methods the store accepts to complete your order. If the gift card is greater than the amount of your order, you will be able to use the remainder on another order at the same store.
Using a gift card for in-store shopping
If you selected "in-store" as your shopping method, our app will take you right to the gift card purchase screen. You can then enter the amount you'd like to purchase and complete the transaction. As some stores may take a few hours to activate a gift card, we recommend buying your gift card before going to checkout, since the card may not be activated immediately.
Once you're at the store and ready to checkout, you can access your gift card by logging into your Sezzle app, selecting "Account," and then "Gift Cards." There, you'll be able to see all purchased gift cards. Selecting the gift card will allow you to provide the card number and any other details to the cashier at checkout.
I'm running into issues using my gift card
If you're running into any issues applying your gift card to an order, we recommend first reviewing the store's policies regarding gift cards. This information can typically be found on their website. You can view the usage instructions for the gift card by logging in to your Sezzle app, selecting "Account," and then "Gift Cards." Selecting a gift card will provide the terms and conditions and usage instructions for the gift card. Remember, each store has their own policies regarding gift cards.
Additionally, please double-check that you're entering in the gift card details exactly as it's displayed in your Sezzle app. This includes spaces, capital letters, etc. If shopping online, we highly recommend using the "Copy" function when entering gift card information and pasting it into the store's checkout page. This will help to avoid any errors.
