If you are having issues verifying your Social Security Number (SSN)/Social Insurance Number (SIN), please ensure:
- The number you are entering matches the number on your social security card/social insurance card exactly.
- Once you have ensured the number you are entering is correct, you may also need to be sure your first and last name, date of birth, and default account address are listed exactly as displayed on your social security card, government-issued ID, and what is on file with the credit bureaus, specifically TransUnion (see their contact information here if needed).
- Sezzle does not require middle names. Please do not add it when requesting a name change or trying to verify your SSN/SIN.
This information needs to be the same information you would provide for any other credit-related transaction.
SSN/SIN Troubleshooting Tips:
- Sezzle Information does not match SSN/SIN - If you need to update the address on your Sezzle account to match your social security card, you can do so from the “Account” tab under “Personal Information.” For name or date of birth changes, please contact our support team and we would be happy to assist. Be ready to provide documentation of your name change for verification purposes.
- SSN/SIN is not updated. You can access or update your information with the following agencies:

Please keep in mind that you should never share your social security number with anyone over the phone or through email. A Sezzle Shopper Support agent will never ask for it, either. For Sezzle’s verification purposes, you only need to enter it in the secure verification tool when prompted by Sezzle.
