Our system decides which options are available for each individual shopper to pay for an order based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to account history, item type, and order value. We do not have a way to adjust this manually.
Why can't I choose to pay in 41?
At checkout, you might not see the pay in 4 option available for the following scenarios:
- You are attempting a purchase over your current estimated spending power. See, How do I know how much I can spend with Sezzle?
- The order is below the minimum order amount at the merchant. See, Is there a minimum to use Sezzle?
- You’ve reached the maximum number of open orders with the merchant or Sezzle.
- You have a rescheduled payment.
Other checkout options you may see that also allow you to build positive payment history with Sezzle are:
- Pay in 21 - 50% down at the time of purchase and the remaining 50% two weeks later
- Pay in 1 (Pay in Full) - Earn up to 2% back in Sezzle Spend at eligible merchants
If you prefer to pay in 4 or are still having trouble with checkout, see common decline reasons here and how to solve them.

1Pay in 4 and Pay in 2 loans are originated by WebBank except loans in Iowa, Puerto Rico, and Canada. For example, for a $300 loan, you would make one $75 down payment today, then three $75 payments every two weeks for a 35.40% annual percentage rate (APR) and a total of payments of $305.99 which includes a $5.99 Service Fee (finance charge) charged at loan origination. Service fees vary and can range from $0 to $5.99 depending on the purchase price and Sezzle product. Actual fees are reflected in checkout.
2Sezzle Virtual Cards are issued by both WebBank, and Sutton Bank, Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A Inc. The issuer of the card will be displayed at the time of issuance. See User Agreement for details. Sezzle provides access to financing in the form of installment loans.
Sezzle is not a bank.
