A limited use card is a virtual card that is valid for a single purchase within 72 hours, allowing you to shop online or in-store. The Sezzle Visa* Virtual Card is currently available in the mobile app for some Canadian shoppers.
How to Create a Sezzle Visa* Virtual Card
For a particular merchant in the Sezzle app, from the Shop tab or the Virtual Card tab:
- Open the Sezzle mobile app and select the brand you want to shop at.
- Add items to your cart.
- Click Pay with Sezzle to create a new limited use card.
- Enter your order total, including shipping, tax, or tip.
- Review and agree to your loan terms. Once created, the limited use card is only valid for that brand and expires in 72 hours.
- Proceed to checkout and copy or paste the limited use card details into the payment section.
How to Use a Limited Use Card
You can use a limited use card online by entering the card details at checkout, or in store by adding it to your mobile wallet. Each limited use card is for one time use, so you will need a new one for each purchase.
You won't be charged until you complete your purchase. When you make a purchase, your payment method will be charged for the amount requested on the card, starting with the down payment. The remaining installments will be charged every two weeks until the order is fully paid off. If your purchase amount is less than the amount requested when the card was created, the unused portion will be refunded to your payment method after the merchant processes your order, typically within seven days.
How to Add to Your Mobile Wallet and Pay In Store
After creating the virtual card, the Add to Wallet option becomes available so you can add the virtual card to your mobile wallet, Google Pay or Apple Pay only.
To add the virtual card to Apple Pay or Google Pay, log in to the Sezzle app, select the Virtual Card tab, then tap the Add to Wallet button below the card image.
You will then be guided through the steps to configure the card to the correct wallet.
Once the card has been added, you can use it at checkout like any other virtual card, by unlocking and tapping your phone at the payment terminal.
For more information on how to set up and use Apple Pay or Google Pay, refer to the official resources from Apple or Google.
